Ten Pound Feather is a copywriting studio in Louisville, Kentucky. We operate tenpoundfeather.com.

Information you provide

This website has no accounts or forms and does not ask you to submit personal information.

If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you include in your message. We use that information only to respond to you.

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the website. It collects information on the pages you visit, scrolling activity, your device and browser type, and your approximate location.

We use this information to understand how the site is performing. We do NOT use it to identify you personally. Our Google Analytics data retention setting is 14 months for user and event data. This setting does not apply to standard aggregated reports.

The retention period for user identifiers may restart when you return to the site, depending on our settings. See Google’s explanation of data retention.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by Cloudflare, which hosts this website. It counts page views and measures how quickly pages load. It does not use cookies or local storage and does not track or identify individual visitors. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Cookies and browser storage

Google Analytics uses these cookies:

• _ga helps distinguish visitors.
• _ga_<ID> helps keep track of a browsing session.

Both have a default expiration period of two years. Their actual lifetime can be shorter because of browser restrictions, and expiration may be refreshed when you return. See Google’s cookie documentation.

The website also uses your browser’s local storage to remember preferences, such as whether you have allowed the site to respond to your device’s motion. These preferences stay on your device and are not sent to us.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies and clear locally stored preferences through your browser’s settings.

You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on in a supported browser to prevent Google Analytics from collecting information about your visits.

Sharing and advertising

We do not sell your personal information or use advertising cookies.

Google processes the information collected through Google Analytics, and Cloudflare the information collected through Cloudflare Web Analytics, as described above.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. This website does not currently respond to that signal. You can use the options described under “Your choices” to manage cookies and analytics collection.

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates take effect when posted on this page. The date at the top shows when the policy was last revised.
